Meet the Designer

Marisa Sabourin

I’m Marisa, a product designer and CAD specialist with a passion for combining technology, creativity, and sustainability. I graduated with a 2:1 with honours in Industrial Design and Technology from Brunel University, where I developed a strong foundation in design thinking, prototyping, and digital modelling. Since then, I’ve been working as a Design Workshop & CAD Specialist, a role that has allowed me to manage a wide range of projects and gain experience across multiple industries.

My work spans 3D printing, technical drawing, prototyping and CAD modelling, with a strong focus on sustainable and user-centred design. I enjoy taking ideas from concept to reality - whether it be through intricate digital models, product photography, or hands-on making. I believe design should not only look beautiful but also serve a meaningful purpose: reducing waste, extending product lifespans, and inspiring people to connect with the objects around them.

Alongside my technical role, I manage 3D printing and CAD clubs with 120+ members where I teach CAD modelling, design for manufacture and rapid prototyping skills. Alongside this, I manage the club′s 3D printing workflow which includes file validation, print scheduling, machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Beyond design, I love photography, travel, and hands-on creative projects, all of which continue to influence my work and expand my perspective as a designer.

Mission

My mission is to design and innovate with precision, creativity, and purpose. With a background in Industrial Design and Technology, I bring expertise in CAD, 3D printing, and product photography to transform ideas into functional, aesthetic, and user-centred designs. I thrive on solving complex design challenges and delivering solutions that bridge technical accuracy with creative impact.

I am passionate about sustainable design and the role it plays in shaping a better future. Through careful material choices, efficient processes, and thoughtful design thinking, I aim to create work that minimises environmental impact while driving innovation. My goal is to continue growing as a versatile designer, contributing to projects that inspire, engage, and deliver lasting value.
